I am not sure, if this is a genuine Akan casting or even goldweight. Although I bought it in 1974 in Ghana I have doubts if this is not a fake.

Kuduos and other pots
Container Number 4 has a diameter of 22 cm. It has got three crocodiles. A very similar container is shown on page 314 ff of Robert Sutherland Rattray’s ASHANTI, published in 1923. It also has got the crocodiles but different patterns as decoration on the side.
